I didn't realize what I was in for when I removed a temple from my glasses. You can't simply put it back in; the spring pulls the part with the hole so that there isn't enough space to fit the screw. I found a quick trick - put a pin through the hole and pull on it to expose the entire hole, and then wedge a dime in the nearby gap to keep it exposed while you reattach the temple.
