Most of the online repair shops I know of charge $40- $50 for simple
repairs. For less than that price I can usually get a new pair of
titanium frames with coated or tinted bifocal prescription lenses.

Most repair shops will replace the entire temple piece rather than
just the plastic tips. They usually have a good supply of spare parts
from non-repairable frames.

My personal spare parts collection includes about 50 junk frames I've
picked up dirt cheap over the years, at thrift stores and garage sales
and the like.
