I like the original idea of obelisks very much (although it
would collide with my ideas of makeing the explorers into
public transportation.)
but changeing the wavefront-algorithem in a way you MUST use
obelisks for remote regions would interfere far more
significantly than the original idea by Stephane and thus
would probably mess up more than the gameplay would profit
from it.
i guess it would fit into the actual wavefront as i
understood it with very few modifications (the local
gradient every glob carries with it would multiply by the
count of obeliscs if it walks past of one of these, right?
same with buildings near obelisks.)
how about diablo's teleports? you can use those you have
already reached on your feet and they are static map elements.
Or your swarms act as teleports for globs and take time to
pass (15 steps in the wavefront = an adequate amount of time
depending on walking-speed, or even a teleporting-speed
ability developeable at a school-like building that comes
after lev. 2 schools.
but not for warriors and explorers. explorers can carry
warriors (please!)
;)
Greetings, Leo
