Barton does not care about Mann et al. per se. Rather, he's using the
Mann et al. episode to put the entire IPCC process on trial. You can
see that in the title of the hearing this week: Questions Surrounding
the 'Hockey Stick' Temperature Studies: Implications for Climate
Change Assessments. What he really cares about is discrediting the
IPCC.
