Swiss ethicist Stueckelberger warns of disasters from global
warming

Nairobi (ENI). Swiss ethicist Christoph Stueckelberger says he
fears that most countries will not be able to reduce Carbon
Dioxide (CO2) emissions below the Kyoto Protocol levels, which
countries agreed to in 1997, to check against global warming. "We
already fear and know that most of the countries will not reach
the goals and obligations of the Kyoto protocol. That will mean
there is danger that more and more disasters will happen," Basel
professor Stueckelberger and founder of the Globethics network
told Ecumenical News International. [283 words, ENI-06-0833]

P.S. - FYI

The October 2006 issue of

"Solidarity, Sustainability, and Religious Violence"

which attempts to provide some hope on global ethics, has been posted:

http://www.pelican-consulting.com/solisustv02n10.html

Due to my sabbatical, this is an abbreviated but informative issue. It
also includes a meditation on "A Learning Faith, a Learning Church," by
Rev. Thomas Michael.

Please notice the "call for papers."

Any feedback (comments, questions, suggestions, issues to be researched
...) is gratefully received.

Sincerely,
Luis
