I have just had this thrown at me in a discussion about whether or not
human overproduction of greenhouse gases is responsible for global
warming. It neatly sidesteps the two questions sceptics must answer:
why has the well documented overproduction of greenhouse gases during
the last century not raised global temperatures; and what has in fact
done this.
I must say that I find it a troublesome argument. But is it more than
just silly game playing? Is it actually the case that the sun has never
seen such a high level of activity and that because of this the
planet's atmosphere is warming up?
