Under the U.S. Constitution, adopted treaties are the law. Per the UNFCCC (an adopted treaty), the U.S. is thus committed to "avoiding dangerous clinate change." Griffin seems oblivious to this. The fact that his boss doesn't care about it and has directed Griffin to gut the Earth-observing missions as much as possible (consistent with the Bush goal of having an impact beyond his term) is legally no excuse. Good for Jim for telling it like it is.
