There's an article which just appeared that discusses the situation in the Arctic. http://www.carbonequity.info/PDFs/Arctic.pdf It's not peer reviewed, but there's lots of references, though many are from news. There's also an interesting graph in the section on sea-ice that compares the decline in sea-ice extent with IPCC model projections, attributed to Dr. Asgeir Sorteberg, Bjeknes Centre for Climate Research and University Center at Svalbard, Norway.
