well im in my first year of research work in the marine sediments from
the northern Indian ocean (Arabian sea). The core that i am working on
has been collected off the Seychelles near the ODP site 707. I am
having a problem with my AMS dates, which was dated 3 times , the
first of both gave core top ages of 31kyrs and 39kyrs.. the third time
the dates came to be >49kyrs. No the problem is that we have
constructed the d18O stratigraphy from G.ruber and curve matching
from the SPECMAP and this has been done assuming that the top is
recent sediment, we do get a good corelation and glacial /interglacial
trends. can anyone suggest me a Absolute dating technique which i can
apply for my study so that i can substantiate my oxygen isotope
stratigraphy ? like using marker horizons of microfossils in the
holocene
