received an

Rs 271 crores from state-owned Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd, the former said
in a notification to the stock exchanges today.

The contract comprises renewal of furnace no. 2 at Rashtriya Ispat Nigam’s
Vishakhapatnam plant in Andhra Pradesh.

Modernisation of the furnace will improve its inner volume to 3,850 cubic
meters from 3,200 cubic meters and raise production capacity to 2.5 million
tonne from 1.7 mln at present, said Siemens.

Rashtriya Ispat Nigam at present has three blast furnaces, two with an
interior volume of 3,200 cu meters and one with an interior volume of 3,800
cu meters.
