I looked through ac43.13 for any guidance on teflon tape on pipe threads and didnt see anything. However, the A&P mechanic's general textbook instructs the A&P that this practice is allowable, providing that he inspects closely to ensure that no tape gets into the lines. There is a statement that says "unless the manufacturer does not allow it". I am going to look closer at 43.13 to make sure I didnt overlook anything.
