Hi Larry,
If the trade you offered were real then it might be a fair price to pay
but
you give up a lot of freedom at airports (you are generally treated worse
than most criminals) and you get very little in return. The latest shoe
bomb is the best recent example. Now we check shoes. What will we do when
they move on to a surgically implanted bomb (they plan to die anyway why
not have it inside their body). Will we then have to each be x-rayed each
time we board a plane? Will we all die of cancer because of the x-rays?
Many complained about the Mc Donald's rejects doing security and now we
will have the same rejects being high paid fools acting like they own the
world and we should kiss their B**. This is a poor bargain from my point
of
view. But then I am just one of the fools on the list.

I willingly give up my freedom to drive 120 mph on any road. What I get
in
return is the ability to drive on those same roads and feel safe from
idiots
going 120 mph. I willingly give up my freedom to steel from my fellow
man.
What I get in return is the ability to exist with the belief that I am
generally free from thieves. I willingly give up my freedom to walk into
an
airport and fly, free from the hassle of x-ray and security checks. What
I
get is the belief that I can fly without fear of terrorist attacks.
We have been giving up freedoms for hundreds of years. What we get in
return is a better life. Would you go back to a lawless society? Would
you
leave the airlines to terrorists to use as they please? Any freedom I
give
up that will give me a better quality of life, I will freely give. Only a
fool will say "give me my freedoms regardless of the cost to society".
I'm
starting to believe I'm surrounded by fools.
