Hi Jan,

I know here at BOI we will be "intercepting" aircraft (private types) that
are headed to SLC to the Olympics--we (Airport Police & Operations) have
to inspect them before they can then fly on down and enter SLC airspace.
The restrictions are going to be TIGHT for this event, folks. I don't
have the particulars but I guess all the private planes that are not
scheduled airline operators, coming from this part of the country, have to
stop here first to be inspected. Then I suppose they (ATC) monitor them
to make sure they don't stop and pick up a "package" along the way...

It's a new world, unfortunately.

Hey folks,

I just talked to my friend at the FAA today- due to the heightened
security measures for the olympics there is being assembled a special
task force of inspectors for the period of the olympics. He told me that
they are going to "ramp check everything that moves" during that period
at the Salt Lake airport.

I would also expect that similar measures are going to be put into
practice at other airports, although maybe not as intense as Salt Lake
will be.
