I think it's unlikely that timing is the problem.  First thing I'd do is
pull 
the plugs for that mag and take a look at them.  Even if they are not the 
problem, they can often tell you a lot.  If plugs is not the problem, then
a 
mag overhaul may be in your future.  Oh, make sure you're working on the
mag 
you think you are.  P-leads are often switched inadvertently.
