Thanks all for the input.  I hadn't really thought about the wing
losing lift, but I probably should have.

Anyway, it sounds to me that if you really want to jump from a coupe,
it is possible so long as the jumper doesn't dally on the wing.  But I
think I'll let other people try it.  I'll stick to flying my coupe, and
when I feel the urge to jump from a plane, I'll do it from one that's
proven itself, like the Twin Otter at the place I'm planning on
learning.
