When I first got my coupe I ADDED the cup type seal in ADDITION to the 
o-ring (belt and suspenders).  You have to switch to silicon brake fluid 
as the main strut flid as it will not attack either the o-ring or the 
cup.  You can find it at a high-performance auto parts store.  I bought 
a quart of silicone brake fluid ten years ago and still have half of it 
left.
