----[Please read http://ercoupers.com/disclaimer.htm before following any advice in this forum.]---- Bob, I noticed that this was a civilian registration, and the airplane was standard Coupe "livery" as sold (not military markings). Wonder why they happened to have it on hand, and if it was intended to be a target drone, observer, etc.? I was suprised he could hold on to that rope long enough to get airborne! Artie

You're right about the N number, you can read it in the picture. Incidently, they removed the propellor for this flight so he was definately a member of the 'EGC' (Ercoupe Glider Club) except he would be the only member of he Rocket Powered Glider Club. ;-) I was stationed at March Field for a couple of years but he'd already left so I didn't get to meet him. :-( Bob Saville N3396H 415C Eugene, OR Artie Langston wrote: ----[Please read http://ercoupers.com/disclaimer.htm before following any advice in this forum.]---- The "JATO Coupe" appears to be NC28655. My Oct 1940 Luscombe was NC28782, so I guess this was maybe a 1940 Coupe. Does that number ring a bell anywhere? ==^================================================================ This email was sent to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] EASY UNSUBSCRIBE click here: http://topica.com/u/?aVxiLm.aVzvvT Or send an email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] T O P I C A -- Register now to manage your mail! http://www.topica.com/partner/tag02/register ==^================================================================
