I have a question from a friend in the UK that I couldn't answer. I think that the ATC should be changed from A718 to A787 when a Coupe is converted from a "C" to a "D", because that is what the "D" is flying under. I am not sure if the ATC is always changed when the conversion is done. Wouldn't it require a new Certificate of Airworthiness and not just a AP's sign-off to change the ATC? Question from the UK: The Type Certificate Number for the Ercoupe 415C is A718; that for the 415D is A787. When a 415C is converted to a 415D, does the Type Certificate Number stay as that for the original aircraft, or does it get a new one pertaining to the 415D?
