Hi Ed:: Its a cryin shame, but once you make up your mind, you've got to follow through. By all means, follow the advice of others and keep active with the coupers. They need your sage advice, and knowledgeable direction. Good luck. Wayne Ed Burkhead wrote: ----[Please read http://ercoupers.com/disclaimer.htm before following any advice in this forum.]---- Yes. I am selling my CoupeI've been without a medical for eight years.During that time, my flight time has been minimal due to the difficulty of getting licensed pilots (with medicals, even) to come for a ride when I want to go.I've given up on waiting. I ordered my Challenger II (2-place "ultralight") kit a week and a half ago. Today I went out and prepared my Coupe for it's flight tomorrow down to John Wright, Sr. & Jr., who'll be doing my last annual.I'm looking for a good owner who wants to fly and restore a nice plane. That has been a wonderful plane for me.We've been to Martha's Vineyard a few miles out into the Atlantic Ocean, a few yards out over the Pacific Ocean, to the Canadian border, to the Gulf and a lot of places in between. I really enjoyed washing my Coupe this afternoon and running the engine but I just about cried. That plane feels so good.It started in two seconds without any prime even though it hadn't been started for a while. The oil pressure jumped right up in seconds. Over the years, I've spent all my money on the mechanical and safety items and had nothing left over for cosmetic so the paint is old and thin, the upholstery is the same as when I got it (original, actually, but serviceable) and the instrument panel still has instruments put in where ever they fit (though I've had almost all of them replaced with good used ones). But I love that plane. But I've got to sell it to someone with a medical who'll fly it.And I've got to buy a plane that doesn't require a medical so I can fly. If you know anyone looking for a good plane that s/he'd like to paint the way s/he wants it, put in upholstery to match, maybe even put the instruments in a new, blank panel, point them my way.I'll attach my ad below. Ed Burkhead 1947 Ercoupe 415-D about 2600 TT, 450 SMOH. C-85, s/n 4503 so most mods incorporated when manufactured. (Also eligible as CD with 1260 lb. limit in case the FAA blesses Coupes for Sport Planes.) Prospects of getting medical back are low so I'm going ultralight/sport and I can't wait any more on speculation. Coupe was corrosion free when I bought it and I kept it hangared virtually all of 23 years I've owned it.. Last three annuals done by John Wright, Sr., and annual scheduled with John in June. 7146 climb prop meets static rpm requirement and climbs well for a Coupe, speed at 2400 rpm is 100 mph - extra good for pilot who'll often be near 1400 lb. gross weight or who has short field. We crossed the Rockies comfortably at 12,500' (once to 14,500 density altitude). Full gyro instruments but needs more vacuum. Replaced some of the instruments last year with good used ones which should work well with more vacuum. Has sensitive EGT and leans well. No radios (I've been using handheld). The money has been spent on safety but I've never had enough left over for cosmetics. Last fuselage paint job in '64 (wings look great). Original upholstery in tolerable shape. Large baggage compartment installed last year. Battery and tires new a couple of years ago. Very good brakes installed last year (not Cleveland but a type John thinks are about as good). Wings recovered in '83 and hangared ever since are in excellent shape. Perfect plane for person who wants to fly and would like to finish plane to their own taste. This plane and I have been to the Atlantic, Pacific, Gulf and Canadian border and I'd like to find it a good home. $11,500 Ed Burkhead 309-698-4098 Peoria, IL [EMAIL PROTECTED] ================================================================== TO UNSUBSCRIBE go to: http://ercoupers.com/lists.htm -- Mr. D.
