The following costs are average for my plane:
Hanger $1,740/yr at $145/month
Insurance` $850/yr
Fuel $1,375/yr @$2.50/gal avgas X 550 gal 100 hrs/year
@ 5.5 gal/hr).
Oil/Filters $100/yr
Annual $500 to $800 (high side)
Extras $100/mth average unexpected costs = $3000-$5000 unexpected
expenses
over 3-7 years, sometimes part of Annual
(mags, prop, alternator, battery, EGT/guage, an
instrument or radio, etc)
$200+/yr Fly-ins (hotels, fees, t-shirts, etc)
$1,000/yr guilt gifts for taking off on honey-do
days
Therapy Priceless
Fact is, most of us could not afford an airplane without adjusting our
priorities. The above averages about $500 per month. BTW, If the Lady
gets
her pilot's license, consider adding more zeros to the above numbers.
