I also use the RAM mount for my early model Lowrance Airmap (looks like the 300). I mounted the ball flange base to a blank area on the panel where an old loran used to be. The universal holder on its short arm can be positioned in a number of ways to ensure good visibility and not obstruct any gauges or switches. I can send a photo if you like.
