If anyone is interested, I have a good digital photo of the breather elbow with the extension that came out of my C-90-16F. As far as I know, this extension came as original equipment on my engine. I've never had any problems with oil coming out of the breather. Also on the Alon, the breather tube goes up hill over the cylinders and then down through the bottom of the cowling, so that may help to limit the oil loss also.
