What are the options for getting a slightly slow tach
operating accurately? How much does the service at a
instrument place usually run and is it worth it for
aircraft as old (err, I mean experienced) as ours (IOW
will the tach just get off again in a short time)?

A mechanic friend suggested pulling out the cable and
cleaning it and oiling it though I don't see how this
could help since the cable *has* to turn at the same
speed as the engine, right? Has anyone on this list
had success doing this?

Thanks.
