hello all. i just joined the group and am very happy to be here. i have a couple of questions. i am an aviation buff from years back. i grew up in small aircraft since my father was a Marine Corp pilot. he flew a lot of aircraft as you can imagine but he always loved the ercoupe the most (well, right after the F4U Corsair!). i took a few flying lessons back in the early 80s. i have no idea where my log book is and even if i did i think it would be a good idea to start over anyway. i am 39 years old now. here are my questions. is it possible to get your full private rating in an ercoupe? if not, can most of it be done in an ercoupe? also, does anyone here have just the 'recreational pilot' rating? i am on a very limited budget right now and would like to take the cheapest route. i live in a very rural area in South Carolina and currently am only interested in flying locally anyway. is the 'recreational' rating worth the $$$$?
