Hi John: It looks like I should have checked the Ercoupe service
manual before I answered your question about the size of the Goodyear
brake pucks. Page 37 of the service manual states that they are each .460
inches long. The manual also says that you can check the wear on the fixed
lining by removing the wheel, but the moveable lining requires disassembly
of brake unit. If you do not have the service manual, I recommend you
purchase one. Skyport and Univair both have them in stock.
Page 36 and 37 explain how to disassemble the brakes and change the
pucks on both the Goodyear and the Hayes brake systems.
