the afternoon unless called in earlier. Let's hope not...
For the record, I don't advocate discrimination against any particular
ethnicity or the like. I think rounding up the Japanese, looking at it
now, was very bad and very sad. I can see how it happened at the time but
I advocate no such action and we have learned from some of our collective
mistakes.
I just think people need to get their heads out of their cockpits and
realize that we need to be ALWAYS looking for persons and things that
don't seem quite right...persons we THINK may be up to no good - guess
what? They MAY be up to no good.
I have been a Police Officer for a very long time now, and I guess my 'bad
guy detector' still works pretty good. Recently I caught a bunch of car
stereo thieves working one of the airport car parking lots. I don't
discriminate against anyone, but 'racial profiling' is a fact of life.
When I saw a group of a teenage local minority ethnic group youngsters,
who were dressed in gang regallia, hanging around a car lot, driving a
low rider car, it somehow sparked my concern meter to level 10. I could
have ignored my little voice because I didn't want to seem to be racially
profiling or.... but... I didn't. My suspicions were confirmed and we
broke up a large theft ring because of that arrest.
Sometimes, you have to listen to your little voice, and make a call to law
enforcement to check something out. Maybe it's nothing. Maybe it is. It
does not hurt to have our federal agents out doing their jobs and checking
out suspicious persons. I can say that. Because, besides being a
wing-nut, I am not up to no good. If they want to come check me out, that
is OK with me.
We have gone too far toward being 'politically correct' and thus, not
wanting to OFFEND anyone, we harbor some of these terrorist (expletive
derogatory term deleted) in our own communities. Turning a blind eye
because you don't want to offend is not patriotism, in my view. We have
to watch out for the enemy AMONGST us, not just across the big pond.
Just my view and I do respect yours. Have a great flight Weds! I flew
the Cessna 206 this morning, 10 landings (walked away from all of them,
anyhow) and got the final checkride so I can fly it solo now. Also
learned that one of our group members landed our '58 182 hard on the nose.
Bent the firewall, tunnel ram, etc. Man is it going to be expensive to
fix. Makes me want to throw up just thinking about it...

I don't agree with the "suspicious people," though. I feel dishonored
that my country
picked up most all the Japanese during our recent unpleasantness with
them. Yeah,
keep a weary eye out. No, don't report everybody spitting on the
sidewalk!

Now, here we agree again. Our fear equals their win.
By the way, I am going flying on Wednesday. Better than watching
endless
repeats of a dark day on TV. Yes, I plan to avoid the TSR's du jour. And
I will call
Flight Service to know where they are. Any body else up to showing that
