Good morning Lynn, my nose cowling is trashed and held together by many patches. My question is this, if a Coupe can shake an aluminum nose cowling apart without abnormal vibration, how can a fiberglass cowling be expected to hold up. I am going to replace the cowling but believe the fiberglass one would shake itself to pieces. Has anyone else had this experience? thanks,Pete -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Tuesday, September 17, 2002 9:55 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]; [email protected] Subject: Re: [COUPERS-TECH] Super Bowl Nose bowl. ----[Please read http://ercoupers.com/disclaimer.htm before following any advice in this forum.]---- Brett; I installed the Kenny nose bowl, along with a lot of other STC'd items on our Coupe in 1999. My wording was very simple: "Installed Kenny Engineering fiberglass nose bowl IAW STC AS 3503WE and installation instructions SMK 72/73, from Skyport Ercoupe Services." My 337 referenced the STC's for all the other modifications and then ended by saying: "Aircraft weight and balance records updated and all work accomplished IAW AC43.13-1B and 43.13-2A" I attached copies of the STC's showing N number and serial number where required, signed and dated the form, and had no problems with the FAA when they reviewed all the paperwork for the aircraft prior to issuing a new airworthiness certificate. It is my understanding that when complying with previously approved instructions, you do not need to use the 16 or 18 paragraph format for continued airworthiness. If you still feel that you need a copy of this, let me know, and I can mail it or e-mail it to you.
