Ed, I think you are correct. The Vac pump is installed on some C-90s.... One might install in on a c-85, but would require replacement of the camshaft with vac pump gear drive, and the case must be machined to accept the pump...as in the case of -16 engines. I agree, that it is probably not an economical move....but if one is not flying IFR one might cvonsider the vacuum manifold back up system certified as a back up for engine driven pumps... ????
