N6596Q left today for the annual Cooper State Dash. The race is from Apple Valley, Calif. to Cooledge, AZ Tomorrow the 11th In the past 6 years she has came in 2nd a few times along with some thirds and down the chain. We race her to let people know that she can give them fits in this type of competition. We never do expect to beat some of the experimental in her class but she does give A 140 Cessna pilot fits. The two planes has came in seconds apart most every year with N6596Q beating the Cessna and next year the Cessna taking it. We have our own race each year between the two planes. Two years ago both planes was low on gas. N6596Q landed and the prop stopped the Cessna prop was dead stick on touch down. N6596Q is minus her pants this year never got around to putting them back on from the trip to Alaska. He will tape her before the race to cut down the air from the swiss cheese mod. The Copperstate Regional EAA Fly-In kicks off from the 10 - 13 in its new location at the Phoenix Regional Airport (A39) Formerly called the Grand Valley Airport.
