Kinda makes you wonder... Do you think they (the FAA et al.) realize the
main
reason we keep our aircraft up so well isnt't their regulations, but
because our
lives, and the lives of our loved ones, depend on it?

That's exactly what I have maintained for a long time, Jim. It is
at the root of a lot of aviation/government problems.
They CANNOT "apply all FAA rules," for if they did, the
voters would replace the entire House of Representatives
(they are all up for re-election every other year), how ever many
Senators they could get their hands on, and Dub-yuh
him very self. You could smell the heated tar (as in tarred,
feathered and run out of town on a rail) from DC to Portland.
The only way we get any respect is through the ballot box; i.e.,
number of voters. We MUST be inclusive in our sport,
or we will become like dodos (not only flightless, but extinct).
