That's exactly how we're running our systems. Boxes are both, server and clients.
So there's then no way to separate the client functionality from the server part? No clean cut between glusterd and glusterfsd? I'm guessing it would not be recommended or supported then to run a gluster client on the same machine as a gluster server?
