Marko - Thanks for your reply. The signature I created did not work on the first several test emails I sent - but it did start to work later in the day. I have no idea why, but it's working now, on regular emails at least.
Ideally I'd like to have two signatures for my one gmail address, and be able to choose between them depending on whether I'm sending from my computer or from my tablet or phone (since my keyboarding on the phone, especially, is quite poor). But I don't think it's possible to have more than one signature. I hope you'll let me know if I'm incorrect about that.
