Gmail does seem to be handling keystrokes differently, starting about 1-3? weeks ago. I used to be able to tab from one conversation to the next, when viewing the list of conversations. (Real handy for selecting conversations I didn't want to look at.) I can't do that anymore. It doesn't work. Cursoring up/down also broke, sometimes.
Also, when composing a message, the message box now jumps up and down randomly (by a centimeter or two), every 10-30 seconds or so. It's very annoying. But it doesn't disappear on me. I suspect maybe it happens when Google updates the ads on the page, but I don't know for sure. This is using Chrome, so my setup differs from yours.
