Entropy, I'm sorry if you thought the group was ignoring you. Probably the others, like me, just can't suggest an explanation for what you're seeing.
The only thing I can suggest is that you make sure you're looking at the correct label. Is it possible that at some point you created a label with a name similar to All Mail and also managed to hide the system label All Mail? Perhaps go through all of your labels via the Gmail settings just to see if everything makes sense.
