Randy - Michael pointed out the important part of this a day or so ago. In Reply, tap the little down arrow which is just above the text box of the Reply window. Then choose "pop out reply" from the list which comes up. You'll get the small Reply window in the lower right of your monitor screen. To get the full sized window, hold down Shift while tapping the double headed arrow at upper right of the pop out reply window. You'll get a very large window. To make that window fill the whole screen, click the "maximize" bar at upper right of the new, large window.
It takes a few clicks, but it's quick and simple. Hope I've made sense here.
