I think the most significant gmail app feature for me is the ability to
read a thread and access to my gmail address book. In the Mail iphone, your
replied message can only be found in the sent label. I need to follow a
thread and prefer opening one subject and being able to read all that has
been discussed on the subject. This is especially helpful when it is mailed
to a group and various individuals respond at different points of the
discussion. It's one reason I like gmail as it helps me keep track of all
that was discussed, rather than searching other individual responses. I
also like the full gmail features of labels, archiving, and especially the
address book. Transferring all my email address groups as well as
individuals to Mail iphone would be too time consuming. BTW, I am using
both apps and am a new smart phone and apple user. I am still learning and
not yet adept with all that can be done.
