If that domain is responsible for a lot of spam that other people are
marking, it would make the filter partial to marking it.  Having him in
your contacts is supposed to whitelist it, but I haven't always found that
successful.  As long as you keep clicking "Not Spam" on it, the learning
filters should figure it out eventually (I've seen it take up to 2 weeks)
 Alternately, you can create a filter that marks "from:[email protected]"
and action "Never mark as spam".
