That's not true at all (the part about iOS wanting to use EAS). The Mail
app uses IMAP when adding a Gmail account, nothing else. Adding a Gmail
Apps account using EAS is done via the 'Exchange' option.

MS is charging Google a fee? Since when? How about my old free Apps
accounts that I am still able to connect to using EAS, albeit from the one
single device?
