It's been rumored that Google might start cracking down on people with more
than X accounts, where the number I think I've seen was something like 3 or
4.  But I have not heard of anybody yet being refused an account for this
reason.

Since Google wants your cellphone number and/or rescue email address when
you sign up, they would have the means to track how many you have under
that cell number or address.

Plus-addressing USUALLY works, but there are some systems that won't accept
a "+" sign in your email address.  I run into that a lot when I try to
enter my address into a form, on some online websites.  It's just something
to be aware of.
