Hi, I sent an email to a nonexistent address and received the expected DSN "Delivery to the following recipient failed permanently... Google tried to deliver your message, but it was rejected by the server..." email. However, this email did not show up in my inbox, so I didn't realize at first that my email had bounced! I only noticed it when I went to All Mail and saw the DSN appearing in the same conversation as the email I had sent. I have no filters set up on my account. What could cause the DSN not to show up in my inbox?
(More specifically, I care about this because I administer the site to which I sent the nonexistent email, and I want gmail users to see our DSNs when they try to email us at nonexistent addresses.)
