Sir Pizza Rex, You didn't explain what sort of notifications these were, but in case you meant Google+ notifications, try the following link:
https://plus.google.com/settings >From here you can select how you want to be notified for these posts so you should be able to deselect email notifications. Also, check out the settings at this page: https://plus.google.com/up/subscribe >From here you can select to turn notifications on or off for each of your Google+ circles. If it's some other type of notification to which you're referring, you could always create a filter to deliver those straight to the trash, but you'd be better off trying to disable the notifications from their source.
