I always do close down whatever programs I've had open before I log off the computer. Is this an example of Chrome's running in the background? I have that option off on two of my three computers. I believe it's on for the notebook computer I take with me (which was how the 2SV issue came up!) because of the days when I formerly used offline Gmail. I wonder if I should now turn off that feature since WiFi is so available.
My previous paragraph has also prompted this question. If I were to shut down the computer without closing programs or browsers, wouldn't they be closed by Windows before the computer could shut down? Uh-oh! Again, not a Gmail issue.
