​It is not 'tacked on'. Adding the account simply tells the Google server
that you wish to use the same browser with another account, without signing
out. You will see in the URL there will be /u/0 and then /u/1 etc.
When you are done, you simply sign out of yours.​

​Not sure how it is counter-intuitive, simply click the 'Add account'
button, sign in and then sign out when done.
