Dear Matthias, Thank you for your quick reply. Meshing worked fine after selecting the option you specified. However, when I tried the same thing with a more complex problem (e.g., lots of curved surfaces), I got the following error while opening the STEP file:
Error: TopOpenBRepBuild Builder::splitON then I got again intersecting surfaces errors while meshing. Could the curved boundaries be the cause? This should work for duplicated planar faces. A more general solution is being worked on (by me, actually...). I have a simple geometry, basically two cubes stacked together and sharing one face. If I fuse the blocks, then there is only one volume and meshing works correctly. However, if I export as a compound volume, so two volumes sharing one face, Gmsh gives loads of errors. Is there a way to mesh such compounds in Gmsh?
