Will have a look at it once I get Gnash compiling again... Scaling
(and masking and such) should be no problem. BTW, anybody knows what
transformations are allowed for video frames (rotation, scaling,
...?) ?

Good to hear!
We will have some closer look at the framebuffer GUI again and add
support for pointing devices (touchpad, mouse) to it.
Then Gnash should run on a bare bones Linux installation without any
window system whatsoever.
