Where can I find more information about this?
It's called the MIT shared memory extension and is used by mplayer and others, avoiding having to put large quantities of data through the Xlib IPC mechanism. There is also "X Video" estension, but that seems more to do with having video camera input pumped directly in a window without X server intervention and scaling of video in hardware. Wikipedia has two overviews: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MIT-SHM http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/X_video_extension M _______________________________________________ Gnash-dev mailing list [email protected] http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/gnash-dev
