Short version:
- install debian
- make yourself a debian mirror (might be optional, but 'its just
easier') using debmirror
Karl, Jason and Sam,
Thanks. I'm starting on the deb mirror first.
debmirror \
--method=rsync \
--host=ftp.no.debian.org \
--nosource \
--progress \
--dist=lenny \
--arch=powerpc \
--dry-run \
/var/mirror/debian/ppc/
Not all the debian mirrors appear to support rsync. The Finnish,
Danish, and Swedish mirrors give the error below.[1] The Austria,
German, and Norwegian ones do appear to support rsync but complain about
ssh.
Specifically, the repository seems to want either and SSH key or a
password for the anonymous connection. The debmirror instructions in
the man page don't mention a key.
Did you read the Debian documentation [1] about this? It seems that only
mirrors with particular tags are good to mirror from.
