I noticed on wikipedia that the Gnewsense project hasn't had a release in over two years and is now considered "dormant".
We are not dormant. Samgee[1] and others are working on the next major release. We desperately are in need of developers. If you have the mind to join us in getting the next release out to the public, we did be happy to have you.
Look at this page[2], to see if anything interests you.
To check if it really was [dormant], I went to gnewsense.org and looked at the recent changes: http://www.gnewsense.org/RecentChanges I was surprised to find that there is a bunch of spam that has been added. The wiki says that the pages are "immutable", which makes me wonder if they were posted using a security hole in the gnewsense wiki (Moin Moin). Perhaps the wiki software needs to be updated? Here's an example spam: http://www.gnewsense.org/download%20full%20games%20free If possible, please enable TEXTCHA to prevent these spams: http://moinmo.in/HelpOnSpam
We are aware of the spam making it to the gnewsense wiki. Samgee[1] removes these pages periodically. Anyways, I thank you Ben, for getting this issue to notice again. I have CCed this reply to the gNewSense developer's mailing list.
