Hi Peter, Thanks for the tip. What is a 'mobo' and do you have any more details about this card? I looked up "Retail Plus" on the staples website but I found nothing. All I found is this<http://www.staples.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/StaplesSearch?storeId=10001&catalogId=10051&langId=-1&categoryId=27482&cmArea=SEARCH&searchClassId=27482&keyword=wireless-g+enhanced+cards+%2526+adapters+%2528notebooks%2529&actualKeyword=wireless&searchSkuCount=4&compChartFlag=true&searchUnsumUrl=searchresults&searchSumUrl=searchresultssummary&errorUrl=searchnoresults&fromUrl=searchresultssummary&cmArea=SEARCH> .
Could you send me a link to Staples, Amazon or whatever pointing to this USB card? Thanks! Andrei On 7/24/07, Peter Bot <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:
Hello Andrei, I'm using feisty; the other day I had to set up a new PC for my daughter. The mobo is an Asus a8n-sli se. In Canada at Staples store I found a made in China usb dongle type wi-fi called Retail Plus for C$30 (compared with Linksys, Dlink etc that were in the 60-70 dollar range) and I said to myself let me give it a try -if it doesn't work return it for full refund. To my surprise it has a ZyDas 1211 chip set with full support/drivers for Win 200/XP/XP64 on the CD enclosed. Under Feisty with ndiswrapper it was up and running flawlessly in 5 minutes with full WPA encription support. It saw the access point immediately and gave me fully protected internet/e-mail access. I'm very satisfied how it performs. Maybe this will help.
