I echo what Jeff said, and publically thank Lori for her hard work, and her generosity in providing the goodies at the LBS last year! Lori, I hope that you will continue to grace us with your good humor and dazzling smile and charm at future meetings!! I also hope that the additional work you need to do for your business is fruitful. I am reluctant to stick my neck out for anything these days as I have a lot on my plate. This spring, for example, I plan to take a lot of my copious vacation (and that's not a sarcasm - I have an unreal amount of vacation time I basically HAVE to take this year due to a change in Compaq's vacation policy) fixing up my house (paint, caulk, etc., etc.). I'm hoping to spend a lot of time down in Florida as well :-). So, I'm not available to chair or coordinate anything, but I can probably help out with little stuff here and there, including opinions :-) I do feel, though, after reading some of the online 'zines, such as LWN, Slashdot, Linux Today, etc., that we need to really take a hard look at what we want the LBS to be, and scope out the market for it very carefully. My impression, and I could very well be wrong, is that the Linux economy is going to be turbulent, at best, this year, and we may encounter a good deal more hesitation/skepticism, etc. I certainly don't want to put a damper on things, but rather point out that significant, focussed effort will be needed in various areas. That's my blathering for the weekend, although I'll be checking my mail here at home a lot. Bayard
